"inauguration." Inauguration is an event that marks the formal beginning or the initiation of something, such as a political leader's term in office. It typically involves a ceremony or a public swearing-in, where the individual assumes their new role and takes the prescribed oaths or affirmations.

In the context of politics, the most well-known inauguration is the presidential inauguration, which takes place when a new president assumes office. In the United States, presidential inaugurations occur every four years on January 20th, following the presidential election held in November of the previous year.

During a presidential inauguration in the United States, the newly elected president takes the oath of office, traditionally administered by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The president then delivers an inaugural address, outlining their vision and priorities for their term in office. The ceremony is typically accompanied by various celebrations, parades, and other public events.

In other countries, the process of inauguration may vary, but it generally involves a similar concept of formally starting a new leader's term in office. It is often seen as a significant moment of transition and a symbol of continuity in governance.
